When a person becomes ill, reaches their last breath, or meets grief, the impact can be profound. In these challenging times, Jewish healing offers ancient tradition and modern tools for individuals and families as they struggle through life’s hardest moments. As the nation’s first Jewish healing center, we’ve been honored to provide spiritual care to many in our Bay Area community since 1991.
Mission & Values
The Bay Area Jewish Healing Center is dedicated to providing Jewish spiritual care to those living with illness, to those caring for the ill, and to the bereaved, through direct service, education and training, capacity building, and information and referral.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors helps guide and inspire the Center’s work. Its members are medical, lay, and business leaders—all of whom share the belief that spiritual care should be available to every person at the end of their life.
Rabbis & Staff
The Center’s rabbis and staff are honored to have supported many Bay Area individuals, families, and institutions. They contribute to the field of Jewish Healing through publications, workshops, conference presentations, and consultations.
The Bay Area Jewish Healing Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We are grateful for our many benefactors —individuals and foundations– for their tzedakah to support spiritual care in the face of illness, at the end of life, and when living with grief.
Agency Awards & Recognition
By our nature, we are a collaborative agency that values cooperative venture for the common good. We recognize that no one succeeds alone, and we’re grateful for the formal recognition we have received for our work in the field.
Our work is supported by an incredible community that shares our values and helps fund our vision of providing every person with the spiritual support they seek. Learn more about our institutional donors who help sustain this work.

Disability Accessibility Information
We believe that no organization can call itself fully accessible, as access may mean different things to different people. However, we strive to say “yes” to welcoming and accommodating the broadest range of needs we possibly can.
