Dr. BJ Miller is a longtime hospice and palliative medicine physician and educator. BJ has given over 100 talks nationally, and internationally, on the topics of death, dying, palliative care and the intersection of healthcare with design.

Rabbi Eric Weiss is the President and CEO of the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center in San Francisco. Rabbi Weiss is a spiritual direction supervisor, and is a co-founder of “Grief & Growing: ™ A Healing Weekend for Individuals and Families” and “Kol Haneshema: A Jewish Hospice/end of life Care volunteer Program.”

Mayim Bialik is an American actress, neuroscientist, and author. From 1991 to 1995, she played the title character of the NBC sitcom Blossom. She later played neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory from 2010 to 2019.

Dana Thomas Carvey is an American stand-up comedian, actor, impressionist, screenwriter and producer. He is best known for his work as a cast member on the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live (from 1986 to 1993), which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award from five consecutive nominations.

Honoring Former Board Members

Susan Moldaw served on the board of the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center for six years and chaired the major gifts program. Prior to that, Susan trained and worked as a chaplain at California Pacific Medical Center, where she received CPMC’s ACE award for excellence in service.

Nancy Boughey has served on the board of the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center as a member of the initial Advisory Committee and later as a Board member for nearly 20 years. Her most recent role was as Board Secretary.

Lenore Bleadon served on the original board of the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center – previously known as Ruach Ami, from the early to mid 1990s. She was part of the hiring committee that culminated in the recruitment of Rabbi Eric Weiss who has brought tenure, leadership and growth to the BAJHC.
