Biblical Readings on fire

Biblical Readings on fire

There was a great and mighty wind,
splitting mountains and shattering rocks by the power of Adonai;
but Adonai was not in the wind.
After the wind, an earthquake;
but Adonai was not in the earthquake.
After the earthquake, fire,
but Adonai was not in the fire.
And after the fire, a still, small voice.
(I Kings 19:11-12)
Face-to-face, Adonai spoke with you at the mountain from inside the fire.
(Deut. 5:4)
But now thus said Adonai—
Who created you, O Jacob, who formed you, O Israel;
Fear not, for I will redeem you;
I have singled you out by name; You are Mine.
When you pass through water, I will be with you;
Through streams, they shall not overwhelm you.
When you walk through fire, you shall not be scorched;
Through flame, it shall not burn you.
For I am Adonai your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
(Isaiah 43:1-3)
