In April, we offered two opportunities to mark grief in community with Jews of Color in this year of so many individual and community losses. Click on one of the dates below to view that recording. More programming will follow. Please check our website regularly for updated information.

1. Remembrance Circle for Jews of Color and our friends and families for Personal Loss

April 15, 2021

Guided by Rabbi Mira Rivera and special JOC guests including Arielle Korman and Tonda Case, hosted by Rabbi Elliot Kukla at the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center. This program offered support to Jews of Color who are grieving personal losses during this time of heightened white supremacy and isolation. A recording of this service will be available by the end of July. We are grateful for the support of the Jews of Color Initiative Fund which made this program possible.

2. Remembrance Circle for Jews of Color with our Families and Allies Everywhere to Mark Collective Loss

April 29, 2021

A service of healing and memory with Rabbi Mira Rivera joined by JOC guests including Kristin Eriko PosnerPaula Pretlow, Denise Dautoff and Rabbi Elliot Kukla at the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center. As the world passed 13 months of collective grief and disproportionate deaths of people of color, we gathered and were comforted in beloved community. A recording of this service will be available by the end of July.  We are grateful for the support of the Jews of Color Initiative Fund which made this program possible.

We are currently planning additional Azkarah Services of Remembrance and partnering with local and national JOC leaders. Please visit our website regularly for additional information.
